Why start in Uttigen instead of Thun?
Safety first: We start right below the infamous Uttig rapids. For you, this means you’ll avoid the dangerous Thun rapids and begin your trip stress-free in the calmest and most beautiful stretch of the Aare. No need to worry about waves—just hop in and start paddling.
Right at the train station: Our office is located in the historic waiting room of the Uttigen train station. It’s just a few steps from the train to the boat. No long walk in the heat—just a direct start to the fun.
The route (Uttigen to Bern)
The route: Experience about 20 km of pristine river scenery.
Travel time: About 3 to 4 hours of pure cruising time—perfect for a day trip with stops for swimming and a barbecue on the shore.
Destination: The cozy Eichholz lawn in Bern. Just drop off your gear with our team by 6:00 p.m.
