Before we became aareböötle.com, we helped shape river culture in the Bernese Oberland for almost two decades under various pioneering brands. Here is our journey:

• The foundation (before 2007): Our founders Neil and Markus gained years of experience as expert rafting guides with certifications in river rescue and safety management.

• 2007 – The beginning: Neil Parmenter launched the first major tubing trend on the Aare with the founding of Aaretubing (aaretubing.ch). At that time, we were the only ones in Europe offering professional river tubing.

• 2010 – Specialization: Neil and Markus founded Ertinger & Parmenter Wassersport to take the professional inflatable boat rental business (Aareböötle) to a new level.

• 2013 – SUP pioneers: As founders of SUP Switzerland GmbH, we brought stand-up paddling to Switzerland long before it became a mass sport and imported the first inflatables.

• 2014 – Innovation from Thun: With our Origin Paddleboards brand, we developed and manufactured the world's lightest inflatable SUP boards in our own factory in Thun.

• 2015 – Merger to form aareschlauchboot GmbH: We merged our brands Aaretubing and Ertinger & Parmenter to combine our strengths as leading experts on the Aare.

• The rebranding to aareböötle.com: To make our offering even clearer for you, you can now find our decades of experience under the modern brand aareböötle.com.

• Uniqueness today: To date, aareböötle.com is the only professional provider of Aaretubing on the Uttigen–Bern route.

• Expansion (2024): We have recently expanded our expertise to the Rhine with rheinschlauchboot.ch (Stein am Rhein to Schaffhausen).
